SAP Senior HR (PA/OM) Analyst

The Internal SAP Group of our Client is very excited to welcome a new member to their growing in-house SAP support team. This is truly a unique permanent job opening for a Senior SAP HR Professional, who is ready to join a progressive, kind, challenging, but open-minded and welcoming team.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The right candidate will start on February 1st, 2012.

What makes this such a great job?

1) The Job itself: Besides fair/competitive compensation and stability, you'd be joining a progressive team, where you will be to "go-to" HR expert. You'll be trusted as the "owner" of the module, and the decision maker on how to address the HR (specifically PA and OM) needs in the system. Your experience and knowledge are important, but your "thinking outside the box", your creativity, reflected in your opinions and recommendations, and your hunger for growth and getting out of your comfort zone are equally important, and will be encouraged and nurtured.

2) The career path: Your professional growth is a huge priority for the Company, particularly for the Hiring Manager of this position. Your SAP and career interests will be matched (somehow!) to the Company's needs, and a path for your professional fulfillment will be carved out for you. This has been and will continue to be a strong positive differentiator that you'll notice right away.

3) The Team: You'd be joining a still small but strong SAP in-house team, where everyone is "the expert" in their own module. The team is expected to grow over the next few years. Each member is a "Senior" level SAP professional in his/her area.

4) Quality of life: You'll enjoy a balanced life outside of work as well. Working from home frequently is not unusual once trust has been established.

5) The Company: You'd be joining a Company that has not only been very stable throughout the economic turmoils, but has excelled during this time, added SAP jobs, grown its SAP infrastructure and will continue to do so at an even more accelerated speed over the next few years.

6) Manager: You'll be reporting to a uniquely caring Manager, who's been recognized for his down-to-earth, progressive, yet very human leadership.

Important Notes:

1) We are excited to get applications from SAP HR professionals within the US only, preferible who are US Citizens or permanent residents, willing to work in Rockville, MD.

2) Having a lot of full life cycle implementation experience with HR is obviously good, but it is MUCH MORE important that you have strong production support experience, post go-live enhancement project experience and month-end close support experience.

3) Even though it is NOT required, we do have a strong preference for folks who come from a non-consulting background. Meaning folks who have worked as fulltime employees as part of an in-house SAP support Group for their companies. If you are ready for change, stimulation, support, growth and personal satisfaction, you should absolutely apply!

General Job Description:

The SAP Senior HR Analyst/Lead will work directly with the Company's HR business department to identify requirements, establish and manage small to medium sized projects, perform designs and SAP configuration in the areas of PA and OM, write technical development specifications (whenever there is ABAP work involed with an ABAP resource), write test scenarios and test plans, perform change management activities, and provide post-production support in general. He or she will work closely closely with the IT Architecture to map SAP data into the overall organization data architecture. he/she will also work closely with his/her fellow SAP In-House Support Group colleagues to manage production support issues.  On most SAP HR production issues he/she will "own" the resolution and work on it many times independently, however when there is project work (enhancements, upgrades, etc), he/she will be working with his colleagues (who are experts in other SAP modules), sometimes as the Lead (if it is an HR initiative) or a support member.

 Duties and Responsibilities:

- Gather requirements from the business. Communicate effectively with concerned parties to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.

- Create and execute project plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements and manage expectations of IT (SAP Team) and business personnel.

- Manage resources (whenever the work requires a team-effort) within budget and project schedule. In this case, you'll provide direction to project team members and manage project issues and risks, ensuring good communication with project sponsors and stakeholders.

- Map (design!) new and/or modified business processes to SAP capabilities.

- Do hands on-configuration in SAP HR and write ABAP development specifications for the ABAP folks.

- Write test scenarios and test plans.

- Perform change control activities.

- Write clear and concise documentation.

- Work with IT Services (remaining SAP Group) to plan and prepare for production support activities.

- Develop effective relationships with IT (your SAP team-members)  and "business-side" personnel.

- Deliver informative, well-organized presentations to both the HR Personnel of the Company (who will be your effective "clients", and to your fellow Team members in the in-house SAP Group).

- Facilitate effective team interaction and generate enthusiasm among team members.

- Consistently delivers high-quality services to clients.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer-related field or comparable relevant experience.

- 5–10 years of SAP experience, with minimum of 3 years experience with SAP HR or HCM.

 - Strong experience required with SAP HR module, specifically with PA and OM.

- Experience with implementation and support of SAP HR module required. The production "support" experience is particularly important.

- Understanding of SAP data model and technical infrastructure sufficient to specify user exits, ABAP reports, queries, forms, and other custom developed solutions built on the SAP platform.

- Experience working directly with application sponsors and stakeholders.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. This is one of the deal-braking requirements. You must not only be an effective communicator, but enjoy this aspect of the job.

- You must be someone who genuinly enjoys learning and figuring out on your own new aspects/areas of SAP, someone who doesn't shy away from having to tackle new configuration tables that you've never seen before, and thrives in those kinds of situations and challenges. Even though PA and OM are the initial must-have's in terms of your experience, the HCM/HR system will grow over the next months and years dramatically, and your willingness and excitements to learn new areas (ESS/MSS, Compensation, payroll, time) in the future, will be critical for you to be happy on this job.

- Nice to have: Strong preference for experience in manufacturing based organization.

- Nice to have: Preferred familiarity with multiple business processes in more than one business group, e.g. Order to Cash, Requisition to Pay, and Product Costing.

- Nice to have: Experience with SAP NetWeaver Portal – Self Service a plus

- Understanding of FDA regulations, is preferred.
